Rehabilitation of the University of Kinshasa sports complex

The Rector of Unikin, Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe received this Tuesday 01er  March 2022, a delegation from the Ministry of Finance led by Mr Clément Mbikayi, Coordinator of the monitoring unit for programs financed by donors at the office of the Minister of Finance.

This visit focused on the official launch of the Rehabilitation and Modernization Project for the Unikin Sports Complex, which is currently in a very dilapidated state. The Minister of Finance, Mr. Nicolas Kazadi, will personally conduct this launch shortly.

These works will be carried out over a period of 10 months and will consist of the rehabilitation of the swimming pool with all its outbuildings, the stand, the changing rooms, the machine room, the electrification, the renewal of the floor and wall ceramics, the earthenware and the renewal of the equipment for a better operation of this swimming pool which is of Olympic dimensions. There will also be the rehabilitation of the large stadium to international standards, the playing area will be made of synthetic turf and the embankment will be stabilized. There will be 2 annex stadiums which will be protected by a protective wall and embankments, the basketball-volleyball, tennis and handball stadium as well as the drainage network of all the grounds towards the outlet which is located on the Kimwenza road.

The Rector of Unikin was very pleased with the realization of this project. The sequence of events on this day of 1er March 2022 suggests that chance no longer exists: a heavy rain (with its share of frustration), a blessed ecumenical service and then a delegation from the Ministry of Finance... All the more reason for the Rector of Unikin to thank the Minister of Finance, a Unikin alumni, who moved from intention to action. The Unikin Management Committee is already convinced that it has a completely renovated playground and also a rehabilitated road to access it. The Unikin Solution's cry has been heard.

The Minister of Sports of the UNIKIN Student Coordination, for his part, expressed his joy at the completion of this project. He encouraged the government's initiative through the Ministry of Finance, but he also thanked the President of the Republic, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, for his involvement in UNIKIN's new development.

The eldest daughter of the universities of the DR Congo is definitely The Solution.
