The Rector of the University of Kinshasa, Professor Daniel NGOMA-ya-NZUZI, signed on August 7, 2020 a new schedule for the public defense of doctoral and aggregation theses in medicine for the month of August 2020.
Indeed, interrupted on March 19, 2020 following the closure of UNIKIN imposed by the state of emergency decreed by the President of the Republic in view of the scale of the CORONAVIRUS pandemic, scientific activities, mainly the public defenses of theses, dissertations and final year projects, resumed on August 3.

- August 14, 2020: “Problems of the competitiveness of the Congolese pharmaceutical industry in the context of free trade: challenges of innovations in plant-based products and lessons learned from Algerian policies”.
- A doctoral thesis in Management Sciences supported by CT Peter KASONGO BATUSSE of the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences/UNIKIN.
- Promoter: Professor Mathias NZANDA BUANA KALEMBA VITA.
- Co-promoter: Professor Timothée KATANGA MUKUMADI.
- President of the jury: Professor Séraphin MVUDI MATINGU.
- Chair of the session: Professor Daniel NGOMA-ya-NZUZI.
- Mention obtained by the winner: Great Distinction.
- August 20, 2020: “Electric energy consumption and poverty of urban households in the Democratic Republic of Congo”.

- Mention obtained by the winner: for a medical thesis, the jury does not give a mention.
It simply states that the candidate has passed all the tests.
In addition to defending the doctoral dissertation, the candidate from the Faculty of Medicine gives a public lecture of approximately 30 minutes without debate.
- The title of the public lecture by CT Serge BISUTA FUEZA is: “Current events in the treatment of bronchopulmonary cancer”.
All thesis defenses take place in the room Bishop Luc GILLON.
