The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) is a consortium of 161 universities representing 40 African countries. It was established in 2004 by the Vice-Chancellors of ten universities in Eastern and Southern Africa. RUFORUM's mission is to transform the governance, teaching, training, research, and service to society in African universities, faculties, or colleges of agriculture and related sciences. RUFORUM's vision focuses on a vibrant agricultural sector linked to African universities that can produce high-performing professionals and high-quality research in response to African farmers' demand for innovation and be capable of securing a subsistence economy for sustainable development.
