Citizenship Education Seminar at the University of Kinshasa

Kinshasa, January 14, 2025 – The University of Kinshasa (UNIKIN) is organizing a citizenship education seminar for newly enrolled first-year undergraduate and graduate students. This event aims to raise awareness and train the new generation of academics on the civic values essential to a harmonious and responsible society.

Date and place:
The seminar will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, starting at 9:00 a.m., at the University of Kinshasa.

Detailed program:
The event, divided into two parts, will begin with keynote addresses from academic staff, followed by interactive discussions with students.

Part 1:

  • 9:00 a.m.: National and UNIKIN anthem.
  • 9:05 a.m.: Opening remarks by the Academic Secretary General.
  • 9:15 a.m.: Presentation by Professor Toussaint Tshilombo, followed by a question and answer session.
  • 10:05 a.m.: Presentation by Professor Jonathan Enguta.

Part 2:

  • 11:05 a.m.: Reprise with Professor Jean-Paul Mbuya.
  • 11:45 a.m.: Speech by Professor Félicité Langwana.
  • 12:25 p.m.: Presentation of certificates to participants by the Rector.

Closing and celebrations:
The day will end with a cocktail reception and a family photo session to immortalize this significant event.

Objectives of the seminar:
The seminar aims to instill in UNIKIN students the fundamental values of civic duty, responsibility and solidarity, in order to strengthen their active role in the development of the nation.

Coordination and organization:
This event is organized under the supervision of the Rector's Office, with the active participation of the deans of faculties and the University Management Committee.
