The Extraordinary General Meeting of the Unikin was held this Tuesday, December 28, 2021 in the Unikin promotions room.APUKIN, Association of Professors of the University of Kinshasa, parent structure of all Professors.

Only one item was on the agenda: the establishment of an electoral commission.

At the instigation of the APUKIN committee of elders, 420 professors signed a petition in accordance with the regulatory texts of this structure in its article 15 paragraph 2, following the flagrant crisis which reigns there.

In fact, this crisis stems from the refusal of the outgoing Executive Committee led by the Professor Bokolo, who has been in office for a term since August 15, 2021, to convene a general meeting that would set up an electoral commission before December 30, 2021, in accordance with the provisions governing APUKIN. To resolve this situation, numerous attempts at negotiations were initiated by the outgoing Management Committee, all doomed to failure.

Thus, the Committee of Wise Men having been notified, the latter convened an extraordinary general meeting on December 28, 2021. It was headed by the Professor Albert Kabamba assisted by Professors Tshiula Jeans And Kika, all members of the Committee of Wise Men.

The result is the establishment of an electoral commission that will have 10 days to organize elections, in order to maintain unity and peace within APUKIN. This commission is made up of:

• Professor Mbwinga, President ;
• Professor Kondani, Vice-President;
• Professor Kwete Dieudonné, Secretary-reporter;
• Professor Langwana Félicité, member.

This is a first for APUKIN to bring together nearly 300 Professors during a General Assembly.
