Digital Transformation of the University of Kinshasa

Four new academic programs are set to launch at UNIKIN: robotics, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data science. This project was presented on Friday, September 25, 2026, to the Rector of the University of Kinshasa, Professor Jean-Marie KAYEMBE NTUMBA.

Initiated by the Digital Transformation Project Management Unit (UGPTN), a partner entity of the World Bank, the project involves two faculties: the Polytechnic Faculty and the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies. Following the meeting with the Rector of UNIKIN, Prof. Cédric OVENEKE, Coordinator of Component 3 within the Digital Transformation Project Management Unit, led a working session with the Polytechnic Faculty and the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies.

The project is scheduled for implementation at the University of Kinshasa at the start of the 2026–2027 academic year.
