Successful collaboration between the University of Kinshasa and international partners for innovative engineering projects

The Polytechnic Faculty of the University of Kinshasa is partnering with the Catholic University of Louvain for the IngenieuxSud project course, an initiative that brings together students from the North and South around multidisciplinary socio-economic projects. Led by Professor Haddy MBUYI KATSHIATSHIA, in collaboration with Professor Jean-Pierre RASKIN and Ms. Stéphanie MERLE, this collaboration has existed since 2018 and offers students the opportunity to practice their problem-solving skills in a multicultural and transdisciplinary context.
At the same time, Professor Haddy MBUYI KATSHIATSHIA is overseeing microprojects funded by ARES, including one on plastic waste recovery in partnership with the ECAM Higher Education School. After two years of work leading to an environmentally friendly protocol, the students are now focusing on floatgarbage, an autonomous prototype designed to collect plastic waste from waterways.
It is with this in mind that the supreme authority of the inspired hill, Professor Jean-Marie KAYEMBE NTUMBA, received this Tuesday, July 2, 2024, in his office the delegations of the partner universities, thus underlining the continued commitment of the University of Kinshasa in innovative and international engineering projects.
