It was a privilege to appear yesterday on behalf of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the consultative proceedings on climate change and oceans, brought before the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) by the Commission of Small Island States on Climate Change and International Law (COSIS).

Le Tribunal est prié de fournir des orientations indispensables sur les obligations des Etats parties à la convention des Nations Unies sur le droit de la mer en ce qui concerne les émissions de gaz à effet de serre à l’origine du réchauffement des océans, de l’élévation du niveau de la mer et de l’acidification des océans.
