The 2nd Regional Conference of AUF Rectors in Central Africa and the Great Lakes: Strengthening University Cooperation for the Future

Professor Jean-Marie KAYEMBE NTUMBA, Rector of the University of Kinshasa and President of the Regional Conference of Rectors of Central Africa and the Great Lakes, opened and closed the 2nd edition of this conference virtually via Zoom. He was physically represented by Professor Pascal KAPAGAMA, Coordinator of the Cooperation and International Relations Unit of the flagship university of the Democratic Republic of Congo.


The main goal of this conference was to strengthen regional cooperation between member institutions around major university missions and to develop the AUF strategy for the period 2025-2029. The discussions and case studies conducted during these meetings aim to improve the quality of teaching in the various respective institutions, with a view to increasing the impact of the French-speaking network in the global university space.
The conference was held on July 18-19, 2024, in Libreville, Gabon, bringing together renowned rectors and academics from the region to exchange and debate on the crucial challenges of higher education in a constantly evolving global context.
