Rector Jean-Marie Kayembe agrees to support FANUKIN's three innovative projects

A delegation from the structure “Federation of Former Students of the University of Kinshasa”, FANUKIN for short, was received this Tuesday, April 16, 2024 by the rector of this establishment, Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe.

This visit had two objectives: to present FANUKIN and its three pilot projects to the rector and to officially obtain UNIKIN's sponsorship of this structure.

These three projects presented by the FANUKIN Coordinator, Giresse Kakule, relate in particular to the promotion and technical and financial support of scientific and technological research at UNIKIN, the recycling of alumni of this university through professional training, the facilitation of their professional integration and finally the promotion of entrepreneurship in student circles, notably through the institution of courses in this field, but also an entrepreneurial competition on the campus of this alma mater.

FANUKIN CONFORMS TO UNIKIN'S VISION OF DEVELOPMENT

At the end of the discussions, Rector Jean-Marie Kayembe affirmed that the existence of FANUKIN and its three innovative projects are in line with the vision of its management committee and its 2023-2028 strategic plan, copies of which he handed over to his hosts immediately.

He reassured of his support for these initiatives and happily accepted to be elevated to the rank of honorary member of the Federation of Former Students of the University of Kinshasa.

I am very pleased to see that we are not preaching in the desert. There are people who hear our calls and are ready to support us. Your projects fit within the framework of our vision and our strategic plan. I especially liked the fact that FANUKIN is made up of young people. I am ready to sign a rectorial decision to assure you of my support. Consider me already as a member of this structure., declared Rector Jean-Marie Kayembe.

RECTOR READY TO PROVIDE FANUKIN WITH REPRESENTATION AT UNIKIN AND IN THE CITY

In its plea, the FANUKIN delegation also requested to have a representation of this structure at UNIKIN in addition to the one that will be in the city in order to be close to both the problems of the University and the opportunities that arise in the city center of the Congolese capital.

In response, Rector Jean-Marie Marie asked his hosts to identify a specific location on the university campus for the installation of this FANUKIN branch. He also promised to see how to provide FANUKIN with premises in the city as part of an ongoing project to provide UNIKIN with offices in the commune of Gombe.

It should be noted that the FANUKIN delegation was made up of the coordinator of this structure, Giresse Kakule, the vice-coordinator Godfrey Benth, the project manager Clarisse Ngoy, its director of Communication Orly-Darel Ngiambukulu and Nicky Ngumba Joseph, member of the communication service.

FANUKIN, ONE OF THE SOLUTIONS TO UNIKIN'S PROBLEMS

In her presentation, Giresse Kakule presented FANUKIN as a non-profit organization created by the University of Kinshasa students with the ultimate goal of working towards the development, influence and networking of alumni of the inspired hill in the DRC and throughout the world,
in professional and socio-economic circles.

According to him, FANUKIN is positioned as the ideal platform
support for professional integration for graduates on the one hand, and support for improving teaching conditions for students on the other. It brings together not only UNIKIN alumni, but also alumni organizations of the most prestigious university in the DRC.

” We came today to meet with the Rector of the University of Kinshasa, Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe. The objective was to present to him the initiative we are supporting, which is FANUKIN. It is an initiative that addresses the real problems encountered at UNIKIN. This is particularly the fact that those who graduate from this university have difficulty finding their first job. There are some who wonder what network I can rely on to find and keep a job. There are also problems related to the quality of teaching, to UNIKIN's teaching materials... Rector Jean-Marie Kayembe was very pleased with this initiative, especially with how we intend to tackle these problems through our three innovative projects that we presented to him. It turns out that the Rector is ready to support us. We are therefore launching an appeal to all UNIKIN alumni, wherever you are, to join us. A recruitment campaign will soon be launched on our digital platforms to facilitate this process. ", said Giresse Kakule during an interview given to the press after this hearing.

It is worth noting that FANUKIN intends to increase contacts with personalities and technical and financial partners in order to present its innovative projects to them before the official presentation ceremony which will take place shortly.
