The University of Kinshasa trains its new students in citizenship

The University of Kinshasa held a seminar in its Big Top on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, aimed at introducing new students to citizenship education. This training is essential for guiding students through the challenges they will encounter during their academic careers and preparing them to become the enlightened citizens of tomorrow.
The University's Rector, Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba, emphasized the importance of this initiative, which informs students of the prerequisites necessary for successful university studies. “It is crucial that our students understand the complexities they will have to go through to flourish in their academic and personal lives,” he told the press.
This immersion, according to the Academic Secretary General, Professor Charles ODIKO, aims to familiarize newcomers with academic life and raise their awareness of the challenges of their training. Several professors, from diverse fields such as anthropology, psychology, communication, and citizenship education, shared their expertise with the students, offering a multidimensional perspective on the challenges and responsibilities that await them.
