The University of Kinshasa honors 21 directors admitted to the Honorary rank

The ceremony to present gifts to the honorary directors of the University of Kinshasa took place in front of the Administrative Building of the University of Kinshasa. A total of 21 directors, including 3 women, each received a freezer and a medal of merit from the Management Committee. This was a way for the eldest daughter of Congolese universities to honor, if only symbolically, these patriarchs who have served this institution of higher education and university throughout their lives. The Administrative Secretary General of the University of Kinshasa, Professor Bruno LAPIKA DIMOMFU, clarified the concept of honorary status. He stated that it is not a retirement but rather a promotion. He also reviewed the criteria for admission to honorary status: having served with the rank of commander for at least 20 years, regularly and assiduously, and having distinguished oneself.

The Rector of the University of Kinshasa, Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba, expressed his joy to the audience as he saw these patriarchs climb the stairs of the Administrative Building to offer advice. It should be noted that this ceremony was coupled with other awards ceremonies. On the one hand, the students of the Faculty of Law, who won second prize in the pleading competition in The Hague, Netherlands, received their medals as Ambassadors of the University of Kinshasa, and on the other hand, the outgoing Student Coordination, led by Sharon Rose Kapinga Kabulwe, received diplomas of merit for having served the students well.
