Muhindo Nzangi and Patrick Muyaya satisfied with the progress of the rehabilitation work underway at Unikin
The Minister of Higher and University Education, Muhindo Nzangi, and his colleague from Communication and Media, Patrick Muyaya, noted with satisfaction the progress of the rehabilitation and construction work on the homes and auditoriums for students at the University of Kinshasa (UNIKIN).
"For the President of the Republic, the main priority is people. And beyond free education, we are at the elementary level, the President of the Republic has placed it at the heart of his political project, it is important that the public can see where we started and where we are going. Because the program that concerns universities is not limited to changing the content, but also to modernizing infrastructure and I am not mentioning all the efforts we are making to support staff throughout the DRC," said the Minister of Communication and Media, Patrick Muyaya.
Minister Muhindo Nzangi indicated that their visit to the university construction sites follows President Tshisekedi's desire to improve academic infrastructure.
He went on to state that the Unikin site was chosen to be the Francophonie Village. This is a source of pride for Unikin, which will have an international reach.
"The 9th Francophone Games only last 12 days, after which the homes will be occupied by students. This means that we are currently working with the management committee to develop a management system that will allow us to carry out regular maintenance. All the roads will be redone, they will be made safe, and the homes will be rehabilitated. UNIKIN will therefore have to be given a new look," said Muhindo Nzangi.
