Following the extraordinary security meeting of April 6, 2022, which focused on the bitter observation of flagrant insecurity on the university site, the Unikin Management Committee met, this time, in an ordinary meeting to decide on the implementation of a “University concession security plan”.
This ordinary security meeting, held this Monday, April 18, 2022 at the rectorate, was attended by the mayor of the commune of Lemba, Jean Nsaka Bekadjwa and several university site security officers.
The discussions, debates and deliberations focused in particular on the development of the security plan, which will consist mainly of:
- The evacuation of all unwanted individuals on the university site.
- The fight against the dispossession and illegal occupation of the university site.
- Mobilization of financial resources, etc.
The Rector of Unikin, the Professor Jean-Marie Kayembe Ntumba, stressed the need to strengthen the elements of the national police and the university guard at the entrances to the Unikin site, the provision of adequate work tools to these security agents as well as the installation of surveillance cameras in strategic points of the site in order to eradicate the banditry which is currently rife on the Unikin site.
