Triple PhDs from UNIKIN at KU Leuven

The University of Kinshasa was honored this Saturday, March 25, 2023, by three thesis defenses in the presence of the Rector of the University of Kinshasa, Professor Dr. Jean-Marie Kayembe, member of three juries, and the Secretary General for Research, Professor Dr. Tshimpi. The three candidates each worked with a supervisor from KU Leuven and a co-supervisor from the University of Kinshasa.

The three theses focused on sickle cell disease, with three different aspects namely: sickle cell disease in children, sickle cell disease in adults and the genetic aspects of sickle cell disease.

The three new PhDs will strengthen the academic staff of the University of Kinshasa and contribute to the development of expertise in sickle cell disease at the parent university.

Our sincere congratulations.
