The Minister of Finance, Doudou FWAMBA LIKUNDE L., addressed the theme “Budgetary adjustment and stability of the macroeconomic framework in the face of the security shock” during a scientific morning held at the Chapiteau of the University of Kinshasa this Thursday, April 3, 2025.
In his presentation, the Minister provided an overview of past and current economic trends in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), while highlighting the vulnerabilities that threaten national growth. He offered hypotheses on the possible consolidation of this economic stability, while warning of the associated risks, particularly in the context of persistent security unrest.
Among the proposals of the National Argentier of the DRC to strengthen economic stability, he emphasized the need to improve public financial management and establish strict discipline in the execution of state financial operations. He also stressed the importance of strict adherence to the expenditure chain, especially in times of crisis.

Professor Jean-Marie KAYEMBE NTUMBA, Rector of the University of Kinshasa, spoke to express the importance of creating URDD (Unikin, Research and Sustainable Development), an initiative that the country eagerly awaits to foster constructive discussions on sustainable development.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the inspired hill, Professor PFUNGA PFUNGA KANIANGA, delivered a speech of circumstance, underlining the importance of this type of event for the intellectual and economic development of the country.
